Welcome to my very First Blog Hop, you may have found your way to my blog through the lovely Jane over at Cards 4 You by Jane.

The idea came to me after making my first Christmas card but I wanted something different that stood out & showed off Mildredsparrow’s Designs.

Lost Lagoon, Smoky slate & Whisper White Card stock are fast becoming my go to colours, I love these combinations together. I first stamped my Dove out onto lost lagoon then I punched out a 2″ circle & stamped only the front of the dove onto smoky slate.

The idea is to try & match them then stick & create the one dove using

2 different card colours.

I then stamped my design paper with the lovely Flurry of Wishes photopolymer stamps onto Whisper White using lost lagoon ink, I love making my own design.

Once all stamped I stuck down my lost lagoon backing colour added the design paper & started cutting & sticking my dove down I used dimensionals to help pop the dove off the card to help give it a flying effect.

Once all in place I used rhinestones for the eye of the dove, added them to the wings & tail, who doesn’t like a little bling! Next in line you should check out the lovely Rebecca over at The Paperand Stamp Addict.

Birthday Wishes Card Inspired by Mary Fish

I’d come across Mary Fish over at Stampin’ Pretty on Facebook & automatically loved some of her ideas, as soon as I saw her use of Tangelo Twist on her Butterflies & Happy Happenings card I knew I had to CASE it!

I decided my colours would be Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist & I used Whisper white.

I needed a reason to use our new in colour washi tape & adding the washi to the card it just looks so fabulous.

Mary’s tip on washi is to not over think it!

The washi was a great starting point, next to punche out my 2″ circles, I used 3, however the original card has one. Then I stamped Birthday Wishes onto the whisper white in lost lagoon, placed the circles off to the right side of the card & used dimensional’s to pop the white card just off the page.

Next I got some silver sequins & placed rhinestones in the middle of them. I just fault I needed more as there seemed to be a lot of white space.

Puncheing out Stampin’ Up!’s Elegant Butterflys & Itty Bitty Butterflys are so easy & simple it was then just a matter of arranging them on the page. I had loads of fun mixing the colours together & propping them up on each other & adding rhinestones to the body of the butterfly for effect.
